The first Leishmaniasis Training Program- Hambanthota

The first Leishmaniasis Training Programme was conducted on 9 September 2026 in Hambanthota, with the participation of AMC HQ and RMO- Hambanthota, PHII and other regional staff. The programme focused on strengthening knowledge and skills related to the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, and control of leishmaniasis. The training also provided an opportunity to discuss field-level challenges and strengthen the capacity of healthcare personnel to support leishmaniasis control activities in the district.
